Duties
|
Course note taking support: providing notes directly to student in course or program
*Reading textbooks into audio format or directly to student
*Scribing answers for exams
*Helping students organize paperwork, homework, assignment deadlines
*Maintains and cares for sensory spaces and kits
*Other limited duties as assigned
|
Qualifications
|
No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided and ongoing.
*Strong oral reader with good command of the English language; well-developed verbal, reading, and writing skills
*Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with students, staff, instructors and the general public.
*Ability to understand and follow instructions provided by the Director
*Ability to maintain student confidentiality (signed agreement required)
*Creativity and flexibility.
Preferred qualification:
*It is preferred that a student worker has personal lived experience with a disability, or they have professional experience working with a disabled people.
*This position would provide valuable experience for someone planning to pursue education, special education, social work, or psychology professionally.
